Part of the joy of living along the river is watching the dragonflies emerge from prehistoric looking nymphs into the beautiful sky dancers of the summer. Dragonflies have been a subject of intrigue in the every single continent they are found.
The dragonfly wings where created using a cheesecloth, metallic fabric and thread. The dragonfly body was created using layers of thread drawn up from the bobbin of my machine. My dragonfly decided to take a rest on a background of appliqued grass which was then free-motioned quilted.
